What Do We Call It? Hair Restoration, Replacement, Grafting….

During a consultation the client often asks, either directly or indirectly, What do you call it? when referring to the hair restoration process.

Back when I lost my hair, my only solution was a fake hairpiece. The hairpiece was a combination of synthetic fibers knotted into lace mesh and reinforced with polyurethane. I would use clips and tape to apply it to my bald area, which actually looked pretty good for that day and age.

Today, we hear terms such as hair restoration, toupee, grafting, bonding, fusion, transplant and replacement. We are here to help provide clarity to our clients and help them understand the difference between terms.

Christoffels Company is in the hair replacement, or hair restoration, business. Under these two terms we talk about surgical or non-surgical hair replacement.

Surgical hair restoration then gives you the option of F.U.E. or F.U.T. procedures, which both come with pros and cons. There are even moreoptions for non-surgical hair replacement, so the best way to understand your choices is to schedule a consultation with a trained consultant who will help you make the best decision. Some basic things to know about non-surgical hair replacement methods are:

1. It is always reversible.
2. Application can be semi-permanently applied or designed to be removable.
3. Hairstyle options are unlimited.

Its important to know that there is no shame in not knowing what to call it. Our receptionist will talk you through the process and help you understand how to get started, and during the consultation, we will make it clear what your best solution is.
